n. a *biological therapy that inhibits overactive T-lymphocyte stimulation of the immune response. It is used for the management of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis to treat joint pain and swelling, improve quality of life, and prevent joint damage. Side-effects are rare but may include infection, allergy, and headache.
