The leaves contain a very small amount of an amorphous alkaloid. They also contain beta-sitosterol, hen- triacontanone, hentriacontanol and quercetin-3-rhamnoside and hydrocarbons.The bark gives an alkaloid, actino- daphnine.The roots contain a flavanone glycoside.
