An antibiotic used to treat some types of meningitis and infections by certain types of bacteria, including PSEUDOMONAS.
n. an antibiotic administered by injection or inhalation used to treat infections of the lungs, bones, skin, and soft tissues caused by Gram-negative organisms (see Gram’s stain), including lung infections in patients with cystic fibrosis. Possible side-effects include skin rashes, diarrhoea, and vomiting.
