Chromogen: From 1 Different Sources


n. any agent in certain foods and drinks, such as red wine, coffee, and berries, that stains the enamel of teeth. Chromogenic bacteria may also produce hydrogen sulphide that reacts with oral saliva to result in coloured staining (normally black).
