Enthesopathy: From 1 Different Sources


n. any rheumatic disease resulting in inflammation of *entheses. Ankylosing *spondylitis, *psoriatic arthritis, and *reactive arthritis are examples. In these conditions the Achilles tendon is commonly involved, with swelling at its insertion on the calcaneus. Calcification within the tendon insertion may be seen on X-ray in patients with longstanding enthesopathy.
