Evacuator: From 2 Different Sources


A device for extracting ?uid from a cavity. In its basic form it comprises a hollow ?exible bulb attached (using a valve system) to a tube inserted into the cavity. Another valve leads to the discharge tube. One use of an evacuator is to empty the urinary bladder of extraneous material during surgery for removal of CALCULI or for PROSTATECTOMY.

Another valve leads to a discharge tube. Evacuators may be used to empty the bladder of unwanted material during such operations as the removal of a calculus or transurethral *prostatectomy.
