The part of the larynx that consists of the vocal cords and the slit-like opening between them.
The narrow opening at the upper end of the LARYNX. The glottis is made up of the true vocal cords. (See AIR PASSAGES; CHOKING.)
n. the space between the two *vocal folds. The term is often applied to the vocal folds themselves or to that part of the larynx associated with the production of sound.
