Infantilism: From 2 Different Sources


The condition characterised by imperfect sexual development at puberty. It may or may not be associated with small stature, and may be due to lack of development of certain of the ENDOCRINE GLANDS: for example, the gonads, pituitary gland or adrenal glands. In other cases it may be associated with a generalised disease such as diabetes mellitus, asthma, ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis (for more information, see under separate entries).
