The root bark contains monoter- penoids, pinnatal, isopinnatal and iso- kigelinol napthoquinones.The fruit gave a cytostatic compound.In Africa, the root bark is used in the treatment of venereal diseases, haemorrhoids and rheumatism; also as a vermifuge.
