Leucapheresis: From 1 Different Sources


n. a procedure for removing a quantity of white cells from the blood. Blood is withdrawn from the patient through a vein and passed through a machine (a cell separator). White cells are removed and the rest of the blood is returned to the patient through another vein. This method can be used to collect peripheral blood *stem cells from a patient.
