n. inflammation of the foreskin. This usually occurs in association with inflammation of the glans penis (balanitis; see balanoposthitis). Pain, redness, and swelling of the foreskin occurs due to bacterial infection. Treatment is by antibiotic administration, and subsequent *circumcision prevents further attacks.
