(sulphasalazine) n. a drug that combines aminosalicylic acid and sulfapyridine (a drug of the *sulphonamide group), used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and rheumatoid arthritis (see also disease-modifying antirheumatic drug).
