Vulva: From 4 Different Sources


The external part of the female genitalia, comprising the clitoris and 2 pairs of skin folds called labia.

The most common symptom affecting the vulva is vulval itching.

Various skin disorders, such as dermatitis, may affect the vulva.

Specific vulval conditions include genital warts, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis, and cancer (vulva, cancer of).

The external genitalia of the female. The LABIA majora and minora – comprising folds of ?esh, the latter inside the former – surround the openings of the VAGINA and URETHRA. The folds extend upwards as an arch over the CLITORIS. The vulva also contains vestibular glands which provide profuse mucoid secretions during sexual activity.
