Zygoma: From 2 Different Sources


Or zygomatic bone. The name given to a bridge of bone formed by the union of a process from the temporal bone in the skull with one from the malar (cheek) bone. It lies in the region of the temple, gives attachment to the powerful masseter muscle which moves the lower jaw, and forms a protection to the side of the head.
